Boston South Station

Board from the main concourse; the Acela lounge is on the upper level. Fifteen minutes is plenty. Silver Line connects to Logan Airport for free from the lower level.

New York Penn Station / Moynihan Train Hall

Amtrak departures now use Moynihan Train Hall across Eighth Avenue — daylight, seating, and the Metropolitan Lounge for sleeper and Acela First passengers. Do not wait in the old Penn concourse; you will not hear the announcement in time.

Track assignments appear late, often under ten minutes before departure. Stand near the boards.

Philadelphia 30th Street Station

One of the great American interiors and pleasant to arrive early at. Track access is by escalator from the main hall; ten minutes is sufficient.

Baltimore, BWI and Wilmington

BWI Rail Station connects to the airport by free shuttle every 10–15 minutes and is a genuinely viable alternative to flying into DC. Wilmington is a quick, calm station with easy platform access.

Washington Union Station

Gates are numbered and boarding is announced by gate rather than track. Allow twenty minutes at peak — the queues at Gates A and B build fast. The Metropolitan Lounge is on the upper level of the main hall.
